Getting out of my comfort zone 14

Posted by
sido (Seville, Spain) on 14 November 2012 in Sport & Recreation and Portfolio.

Following the advice of several photographers, I try to take all kind of pictures out of my comfort zone. This serie is completly different from let's say "my style" and though I did it as an exercise, it was a very pleasant one.
Another point is that I dissociated the focus so that I could shoot without focusing for each picture taking into account that the horses were very fast.

Giant Apaloosas I think. How beautiful they are, as well as powerful. I like your showing the terrain in dominance almost...which gives a feeling of action coming in from right. I know there is photographic rule about it that I just intuit. Hard to get out of the habit of centering everything. I'm trying lately.

Wonderful image. You really get the feeling how massive and powerful these horses are. With them on the side, it makes you feel as if they are coming towards you. Beautiful!
